“moshi-moshi”

aisatsu! (greetings!)
moshi-moshi.. ogenki desu ka? (hello.. how are you?)
thes are some of the expressions used to express something in japanese. it’s sounds fun right? Well, it’s good to learn other languages or dialects. Except from the fact that you can use it when talking to a foreigner or when traveling abroad, you can also use it in everyday activity. for example, greeting someone with goodmorning as “Ohayuo Guzaimasu” or goodnight as “Oyasumi nasai”; in special ocations: greet Happy birthday as “Otanjoubi omedetou” or a simple congratulations as “Omedetou guzaimasu” it also enhances self-confidence. Try introducing yourself as “watakushi namae wa (name)-san”, plus how do you do? as “Hajimimashite” or telling nice to meet you as “dozo yorushiku”. Good to hear, right? Hearing other words instead of the usual is an absolute delicious ear-candy! Try to greet good noon to your friends or classmates as “kunichiwa” or good evening as “kombanwa”" as a habit; goodbye as “sayonara”, excuse me as “sumimasen” or sorry as “gomen nasai”. It’ll make something difference. Using other words to express something makes difference. It sounds different. Wether to impress others or use it for fun, remember: for every words that comes out from the mouth must use to take good effect, not bad. That’s all.

a song for a friend…

The nights are passing by

And it’s really makes me cry.

Knowing that sooner we’ll say goodbye.

I don’t know what to do,

I don’t really want to leave you,

I’ll miss you

Miss you.

Is this goodbye my friend?

Is this really the end?

This is the last day that we can spend.

This is the saddest day.

I do really want to stay.

But I can’t…

I can’t.

Those sweet smiles,

Those laughters,

Those happy even though they’re losers.

Those teardrops,

Those hard pains,

Those friends who were there whenever

It rains…

I’ll miss you,

I’ll promise

To keep all those happy memories.

But my friend

Pleas don’t cry

I don’t want to see those tears

Falling from your eyes.

And Generals played the Game

Philppines was once a great paradise ever since the other occupiers tried to invade it. Ferdinand Magellan led the invasion. With his battalions armed wih pistols and canons they forced the inhabitants to leave their lands. But Filipinos were brave nough to face them. Leaded by Lapu-lapu, they pushed the horde with their sabers and spears into the shore. Territorialism continued through ages until the so-called “Katipunan” came. They’re a group of noble filipinos who were willing to sacrifice their lives just for the sake of freedom. They proudly let their bloods flow down the grounds of their beloved land. It was a battle ever since. A battle for freedom. A battle for our country. A battle of courage that made the game came to life.

A man named “Ronnie Pasola” invented the psychological game on August 1967 in barrio Palanan, Makati. While greater Manila was sinking in a big flood. Games of the Generals or locally known as Salpakan is a combination of chess and cards, on which you will not know the opponent’s rank unless you challenge it. It had been introduced for over 33 other countries, with no less than 2,500 clubs.

experimantation, flanking movements, guerilla tactics and territorial coverages were applied before finally finishing the game. With the pieces of generals down to sergeant plus the privates completes the set. Iwo Jima with its victorious marines, provided the heroic angle of raising a flag signaling the capture of the enemy’s territory. James Bond and Mata Hari,  made the inventor put a pair of spies on the game. With the movie “The night of the Generals” made the style of taking off from the way generals prefer to fight. Allowing the player the freehand of deploying his forces, in contrast with the chess method of forcing a player t start from one singular formation.

For me. this game should be spread all over the world and let the name Philippines rise with it’s name. With those aspiring talented filipinos, lets make difference. Lets fight for our country. Lets continuue what our heroes did. lets fight for it. Lets play… The games of the Generals.

City Science High

yan ang logo namin.

yan ang logo namin.

In a distant place of Puerto Princesa City. Away from problems and burdens. Away from troubles and pains. Beyond the busy streets. Up in a hill. hidden by the forest. Secluded in a name: Puerto Princes City Science High School. A place where students live with peace and joy. Enhancing all good in their academical skills and educating young professionals for their fruitful future. Whispering their thoughts and ideas with the pleasant wind blowing all around. Delivering bunches of laughers and jokes that heals their mind and boosts their spirit up. Learning great things about life and discovering more for the widest of their imaginations. Enjoying the happiest years of their life, creating special memories and valuing the great meaning of friendship, and love. Expressing their selves in different styles as they explore the mysteries of their lessons. Their teachers were good, create difference with others as they craft their very own masterpiece students for the better of their lives, under the guidance of their dear principal. Their professionalism in their subjects suggests a better way of learning in the part of their dear students. They were simple yet effectively weird. Though humans, their strong desire for teaching makes them extraordinarily cool. They give all their best distributing great knowledge as they continue augmenting their experience in teaching. They were “monster” when they were teaching. Professionals as they were in ecstasy as they teach. They love their work, until the bell rings. It’s a job well done. The other persons on board were absolutely friendly. The guard always wear his gorgeous smile and greets every student whenever they come in and out. The canteen personels were good in their specialties keeping their food fresh and clean. The utility men were hardworking and diligent doing their best to improve the school surroundings. This school was really great for me, though it was not the best. For the past years I’ve been staying here, I’ll always cherish those memories. My friends, my classmates, I love this school whatever happens. I’ll always remember it… here in my heart. The City Science High. Excerpt

the one who walks with me

nag-eemote?

nag-eemote?

The One Who Walks with Me…

Everyone has own way to walk on. Own race to finish. Own jourey to go through. Own mountain to climb. Whenever we walks, we used to come across other peoples. Some of them may easily gone out of sight, while others may stay with you wherever you go.

There was a close friend of mine who used to walked with me. It was weird that he used to walk on the same path i am going on. A peer who had always been there wherever i go. Let’s just seclude him in a name: “Benjie Louell G. Abbas”. He was an arrogant, corny, emotional, serious, and the one who would always correct other’s mistake. I met him when we were in the fifth grade since we moved to Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. He was a classmate of mine who were similar to me in many ways. We used to sketch our own worlds and share our ideas to improv our skills. Creating characters of our own and putting up story on it is just a part of our dream, but publishing it is not our main goal. Our greatet hobby was walking. Walking where ever our feet leads us. Farther than Forever is too unbelievable but we dont care about it. We just walk and walk until our legs get tired, keeping the motto “Never assume that the journey is about to end when you can already see the finish line. Try to reach it, cause one wrong step you may make will change it all the way”. Whenever we walk, we used to chat about differnt things. Eating is a great deal for us and food is one of the best topic we oftenly discuss. We ha been chatting for different recipies from all over the world. From the most popular, to the most exotic; From the most expensive, to the most cheapest;  from the sweetest, to the spiciest: from the most delicious, to the most dreadful. But our very own, original Filipino food are always the best. Drinking coffe is another hobby for us. We had different taste buds but we used to love it the same way. music makes the world noisy, in terms of communication, expressing thoughts and ideas in another way. Listening to music is his best past time. We used to like pop and ballad, but the word “rock” is always different. He love the band entitled “Hale”. He always talks about them and listens to their rhythm whenver he had problems. Although he used to play drums, playing guitar makes him the way he wants to be. I am the one who composes the lyrics while he who puts the tune. That’s how we express ourselves. Our classmates used to tease him whenever he throws jokes, well for me, it just needs somekind of a psychological analysis before you can appreciate it. He used to go with girls and chat with them and so others thinks that he was flirting. Infact, i’ve seen him how he had a hard times about his “heart ” problems. Correcting someone really hurts, and he usually does it to me, but Benjie is always rue to himself. I accept him whatever he is. He never wears a mask and that was one thing that I’ve learned from him. Another topic we used to talked is about computer games. We love to play them for entertainment, but or real goal is getting more ideas from it. He loves to share thoughts and trivias to me, besides I think I am the only one who can appreciate it. Last July, their family move to Laguna and got far away from his friends. He walked away from us and it’s one of the reasons why I missed him. It is really true that “you’ll know the true importance of a thing, when it was already gone”. Now I am walikng by my self; and I miss the one who walks with me. I wish we coud do the things we had been doing, but for now, I will continue walking keeping our motto on my way until i meet him as soon as i go through.

remembering: turong day…

This story was about a very memorable event that had happened when I was in my first year of schooling in PPCNSHS. We, my classmates, had been experience it unexpectedly that left us memories we’ll never surely forget.

As far as I remember… it was Friday, date: November 13, year 2006. late afternoon, between 2:45 to 4;50. the bell rings and our classes were done. My classmates, including me, were busy cleaning our room, respectively, the others were busy chatting with each other, while some were playing under the tall trees beneath the side of our mini forest, and the some were just walking in and out wherever their feet leads them. It was a very ordinary afternoon for us and we did not expected that an extraordinary situation falls down to us. Suddenly, the mayhem came and tantrum rise from the cracking sounds of a branch. the branch suffered from the heavy weight of the hive of the so called black bees or locally known as “turong” attached on it. Someone suddenly cried “Ang bahay, Bumagsak na!!!” and the students around panicked. It was a big ovoid castle with the size of a drum fell down in the school grounds of city high.  The branch collapsed making the bees living in it spread out and in shock, attacked the students that they see around. We all ran out knowing that their stings gives an absolute pain. Some entered the rooms, others rushed far from the scene, some hid their selves among the things that can see around, and others even dashed into the C.R. just to evade the horde of bees. Unfortunately, the others who were unlucky had caught by and was bitten. Some of  my poor classmates were one of them. They got painful shots as the others had tumbled down. It was too bad for them… and I’m lucky they didn’t catch me.

Well, after all those things, we realized that we had fun. The bad memories of those scenes was replaced by laughter as we reminisce. In fact, we had been celebrating it for remembering that extraordinary phenomenon and we’re glad that we had it for the happiest years of our high school.
